More than a teacher and mentor, Roberto Godoi is an active competitor at the highest level, proving through results what it means to live the G13BJJ values of Excellence and Determination.

From Godoi Jiu-Jitsu to G13BJJ

In 1988, Roberto Godoi opened his first academy in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil, under the name Godoi Jiu-Jitsu. For over two decades, he built one of the strongest teams in the country, trained world-class athletes, and established a legacy of discipline, innovation, and victory.

In 2013, together with a select group of professors and athletes, he launched G13 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—a new chapter designed to spread his vision, methodology, and fighting spirit worldwide.

Our Professors

At G13BJJ, students train under an elite team of Black Belt professors—all IBJJF certified, champions, and active competitors in national and international tournaments.

Our instructors are more than highly technical athletes—they are passionate teachers. Many were formed on the G13 mats under Professor Roberto Godoi himself, and today they carry forward his lineage, philosophy, and methodology across the U.S. and around the globe.

This ensures every student—beginner, advanced, child, or adult—receives authentic, world-class Jiu-Jitsu instruction.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY ASSUMPTION OF RISK COVENANT NOT TO SUE

The individual named below (hereafter referred to as “I” or “me”) desires to participate in “Brazilian Jiu Jitsu” and/or Muay Thai Boxing ((hereafter “training activities”) provided by G13 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, LLC (hereafter “G13BJJ”) with offices located around the world. In consideration of being allowed to participate in “training activities” at G13BJJ, and in recognition of the company’s reliance hereon, I agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this instrument.

  • 1. I am aware and understand the “training activities” provided at G13BJJ are potentially dangerous activities that involve the risk of serious injury, disability, and/or death.
  • 2. I acknowledge any injuries I sustain may result from or be compounded by the ordinary actions, omissions, or negligence of the company.
  • 3. Notwithstanding the risk, I wish to voluntarily participate in “training activities” with knowledge of the danger involved and hereby agree to accept and assume all risks of injury, disability, and/or death arising from my participation in the “training activities”.
  • 4. I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known, against G13BJJ, Roberto Godoi, and their staff, Independent Contractors, Trainers, Coaches, Instructors, Affiliates, Business Partners, Sponsors, Agents, Representatives, Heirs and Assigns (hereafter Releasees”) arising out of or attributable to participation in the “training activities”.
  • 5. I agree not to bring a claim against the company or its releasees, and forever release and discharge the company and its releasees from liability under such claims if those claims are related to “training activities”.
  • 6. If a claim is brought against G13BJJ by a me or by a third party that arises out of an injury I suffered while participating in “training activities” at G13BJJ, I shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company and all Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including attorney fees, fees, and costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Release.
  • 7. This waiver, release, and covenant not to sue does not apply to instances of gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other liabilities that North Carolina law does not permit to be released by this agreement.
  • 8. This release constitutes the sole and entire agreement of the company and me with respect to the “training activities” and supersedes all prior contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and verbal, with respect to such subject matter.

  • I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor named above. By signing below I hereby consent to and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions in this release of liability.
